TIME IS VALUABLE. SAVINGS NEED EVIDENCE.
Should you
automate this?
Compare the effort today with the cost of automation. Include the time people still need to check the work.
Use estimates to explore a scenario, then replace them with measured numbers. This is arithmetic, not a quote or a promise of savings.
YOUR SCENARIO / NOT A FORECAST
The numbers behind the decision.
Assumptions and calculation
Annual occurrences = weekly frequency × working weeks. Released hours = occurrences × (current minutes × removal percentage − additional review minutes) ÷ 60. Labour value = released hours × hourly cost.
Estimated cash benefit = positive released labour value × your spending-reduction percentage, less 12 months of running costs. Additional labour effort is counted as a cost in full. First-year cash effect also subtracts setup. Cash payback = setup ÷ positive average monthly cash benefit.
Assumes steady volume and costs from day one. Excludes ramp-up, tax, financing, inflation, discounting, revenue effects and unentered costs. Fractional payback months are estimates, not payment schedules.
Test the assumptions before investing.
Measure a small workflow first. Confirm quality, permissions, review requirements and integration feasibility before making a spending decision.
